New Feature: Google Map-based Archives

This is an extreme work-in-progress, but I wanted to point out that I've made google map-based archives for some of my entries. Yeah, some—this stuff takes for freakin' ever to input and format. I'd almost be willing to pay someone to do it. Almost. I just have a few more years of archives to get through and I'm done! Haha! Kill me please!

You'll definitely want to view the larger versions of the maps. I hope you find this feature helpful; many priceless hours of sitting on my butt went into it. I benefit from the maps too, of course; with a quick glance I can see how far my gorging has taken me. It's rather frightening.

(Oh yeah, I do plan on my next entry to actually be of the "food review" category. Too busy and tired to do it right now though. PLEASE STAND BY.)

OMG, I'm jealous! Not of the butt sitting though, but I just realised you live in NY and I've never even been there. My living in the cheese city of Holland does SO not compare to that.. *sighs and eats more cheese*

Amazing! I'm so glad I'll be flying up to NYC for spring break! :)

hey :)
This is kind of a random comment, but kind of not b/c it relates to maps. Anyhoo, I know in one of your previous posts you mentioned you have a gps tracker. Would you recommend getting one? I'm considering it, but how reliable do you think they are? Any advice would be awesome! :)

Hey guys, I'm glad you like the maps! SO MANY HOURS OF PAIN...FOR YOU!!!

Sarah: If you want to drive around a lot without maps, then a GPS tracker is really useful. ;) However, relying on one kinda sucks cos they have a tendency to take you on messed up routes. You'll get to your destination, just maybe not as quickly as if you had just looked at a normal map. If I'm driving alone it's GPS all the way.

Awesome!
I would do it if I'm motivated...except I'm not and I'm happy enough to list where I've eaten. Also, I haven't eaten out as much as you have anyway.

you are so kind to your readers.. i can definitely tell that this is SO much work. i would probably do the same if the google maps for taipei were as accurate... i just updated my restaurant index and was so bleary eyed at the end of it.

Carrot: Mmk, I think I have to draw the line at embedding youtube videos into my comments, haha. ;) I didn't really understand what the video had to do with this post either.. ._.?

Tina: OH NO, don't to it, it's too much work. But now that I've started I think I have to finish. Wah.

Joanh: Yay, us bleary eyed people must stick together in our bleariness.

-____- (I think that thing is a bleary-eyed face.)

Help out roboppy?

If you do want to help me out monetarily, here are some easy non-obtrusive ways to give back:

- Buy stuff through my amazon ID!: This is the BEST WAY to help me out without throwing money at my feet. I buy most of my material goods from amazon.com, and it would help me shittons if you bought stuff through my link. I don't get much per order, but the referral fees can add up.
- buy t-shirts through my Threadless Street Team thinger!
- Get webhosting with Dreamhost.com and enter roboppy@gmail.com as the referral

You need stuff from amazon.com and you should buy t-shirts from threadless (I've been somewhat loyal to them for the past five years). Thank you for making sure I don't resort to pan-handling and robbery!

The Canon 20D with a Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC macro lens is my main camera as of August 2007, although I used to use the Rebel XT before that...and the SD 450 before the summer of 2006. You should also know that I "post process" all my photos in Photoshop to make them suck less. Of course, you need a camera to take semi-decent photos first (it has a good macro mode), but without photoshop, I am nothing.
